AKEEM KAFUMBA: A REFUGEE PASTOR ARRESTED FOR BEATING WIFE | DAYTON, OH-USA

Updated: Oct 7, 2021

News broke last week about the arrest of Akeem Kafumba, known to many in the refugee community from Kyangwali residing in various cities in the U.S as a pastor, leaving many asking what went wrong. Many of those that know Mr. Kafumba have rushed to their own conclusions; with some judging him as proud, and arrogant while others, a group of those sympathising with the wife accusing him of crossing the line with how he beat her. Mr. Akeem is rumoured to have traveled to Uganda just a few days after the wife gave birth only to spend about 2 months, citing that he has another wife in Kampala who he assigned the property he bought before flying to the United States according to those familiar with the story. Just like many refugee families in the U.S, it is not clear whether he and the wife had issues but those close to them say the atmosphere in their marriage even before resettling to the United states was not a healthy one.

ABOUT US

CommNews&Info is the Refugee Press Team with members in the U.S, Canada and Uganda. We report on refugee news and other information from refugee camps and settlements and many places they are resettled to in the west.

Our Plan is to avail News, Information and Technologies to remote places, specifically the refugee camps. Our founder realized that there isn't enough effort to get refugees informed making them vulnerable to fake news, misinformation in general, and rumors, something we are addressing.

CommNews&Info is owned by Refugee News and Information Africa Limited (RNIA Ltd.). Among other things we are planning to address is the need for eLearning for schools through providing connectivity in the form of WiFi so students can easily surf the web at schools and in public places.

We also support education for young girls through The Falone Girls Fund.
